Music the Wright Way's Piano Studio changes the stereotypes that are associated with piano lessons. Chaundra Wright often says "These aren't your grandma's piano lessons!" We offer 21st century piano lessons for 21st century kids. Lessons are designed to get kids excited about learning. We meet children right where they are. Starting at 18 months children are introduced to music and piano in Kiddy Keys and Company. There are a variety of lesson options to accommodate children of all ages and learning preferences. Music the Wright Way provides parents and kids the solution to boring music lessons by using fun and innovative techniques that transform children into musicians who love music and leave parents feeling proud.
Music the Wright Way's flute students have earned college scholarships, superior ratings at middle and high school level Solo and Ensemble Festivals, acceptance into the District Honor Band and All State Band, entrance into DeKalb School of the Arts, metals, and countless other recitals and community performances.
Chaundra Wright is a Music Educator raised in Miami, Florida. Both of her parents were Band Directors and exposed her to instrumental music at an early age. Mrs. Wright began playing violin at the age of 3 with the Suzuki method. She was a member of the Miami Youth Symphony at the University of Miami. After several years of playing violin, Mrs. Wright joined the school chorus and then went on to play the flute in the school band. She excelled on the flute and was selected as principal flute for several All-State and All-County Band and Orchestras. Chaundra was also selected to play with the London Symphony Orchestra in the Florida International Festival.
Mrs. Wright holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL. She played mellophone (French Horn) in the famed Marching 100 and has performed all over the country including at Super Bowl XXXIX in Jacksonville, FL. Also while attending FAMU, Mrs Wright was the principal Flautist in the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Flute Choir.
After graduation Chaundra began teaching at an elementary school in Tallahassee, FL. It was there that she fell in love with the Orff-Schulwerk method for teaching children. She loved the hands on method and noticed how quickly her students excelled. She completed the Orff-Schulwerk Level 1 course at Florida State University and Levels 2 & 3 with DeKalb County Schools.
Mrs. Wright taught Elementary General Music and Middle School band in Leon County, FL. She taught band for Emory University's Graduation Generation Music Conservatory and was the General Music Teacher for the Atlanta Music Project's A.M.P.lify choir in addition to serving as a String teacher for the Symphony Orchestra.
Now, Mrs. Wright facilitates master classes at several middle schools and high schools in DeKalb and Rockdale County. She is the General Music Teacher at Rainbow Elementary in Dekalb County and teaches piano, flute, and violin.
Mrs. Wright has lead her students to earn college scholarships, superior ratings at middle and high school level Solo and Ensemble Festivals, acceptance into the District Honor Band and All State Band, entrance into DeKalb School of the Arts, piano metals, and countless other recitals and community performances.
